Required Materials
Copper Hook-Up Wire, 250 Foot Reel. 15,000 Volt Insulation
Hookup wire is always necessary, but you may choose to use a lower price product. This wire is great because of it's flexibility, and the fact that it is copper. The fencing braid is also copper, so it makes a compatible connection to the hook-up wire without the use of a dissimilar metal transition connector, often called a neutral plate connector, or hook-up connector. Additionally, many products on the market for this purpose are solid core (not stranded) and very stiff and difficult to work with.
Copper Split Bolt Connectors
Copper split bolt connectors with cable ties. To splice and terminate braid and for electrical connections.
-Split Bolts are used to begin or terminate a strand of Braid. -For electrical connections. -And to splice lengths of Braid together.
Electrobraid Line Post Insulators
Bags of 25
Line Post Insulators may be used rather than the more costly Roller Insulators, for line posts, or simply to insulate the braid from coming into contact with anything that might otherwise ground it, such as the cross beam of an H-Braced Corner Post.
They are available in either black or white for the same price.
Electrobraid Reel, 1200′
ElectroBraid™ rope is made from high quality braided polyester fibers that won't unravel or break. The high strength braid protects the copper wire conductors that are formed in helical coils like springs to allow for bend and stretch. The copper wires won't break up to 1,000 pounds tension.
Also available in 600' Reels for &109.99 per reel.
ElectroBraid™ combines resilience with barrier strength. It is offered in 3 attractive patterns/colors.
Electrobraid Tension Kit
The tension kit is a required tool for tensioning the Braid. Note: Never use machinery to tension the Braid.
Ground Rod
Copper Ground Rod and Ground Wire Clamp.
Used to ground the system along with copper hook-up wire.
Roller Insulators
The roller style insulators are easy to install with either 2.5 in screws (Shown), or with the webbing and nails (or 1.5" screws) for additional freedom of movement and better pull-out strength at corners and end-posts. The roller separates from the bracket to allow insertion of the Electrobraid rope without the need for a free end. The free floating roller design also makes tensioning easy, even around corners.
The strength and, UV stability, ensures a no maintenance 20 year installation. Insulators are provided in bags of 12. Screws, Nails and Webbing Ordered Separately. White Insulators now available for the same price.
